Each person’s skin condition is different. Some may have more blocked pores, blackheads, whiteheads, pimples. Some may have more skin bacteria and dead skin cells.
The earliest improvements you will notice is lesser inflammation and redness around the acne and eventually its shrinkage.
Some longer-term improvements will then be the absence of whiteheads and blackheads, clearer and firmer complexion which may take 3 to 4 months of consistent treatment to see.
Each person’s skin condition is different. The consistency, firmness, wrinkles and or sun damage will differ.
The earliest improvements you will start to notice is usually after 2-3 months in your skin’s consistency and firmness.
Some longer-term improvements at 4-5 months will then be the improvement of skin wrinkles and blemishes from sun damage as well as the reversal of photoaging effects.

Over-the-counter products are non-prescription and not clinical strength. The ingredients we use have been studied extensively through clinical studies.
Spot treatments tend to have very strong chemicals in them like benzoyl peroxide which has a bleaching effect when used in high concentrations or repeated use – so it’s not suitable for long term daily use.

Doxycycline is typically used for short-term treatments, and you can expect to be taken off medication once your skin improves — but this is best discussed with your healthcare professional.
Be sure to up your water intake to aid digestion. Make sure you’re taking it after a meal, wear sunscreen daily, and avoid laying down for at least 30 minutes post-medication.
Asides acne, doxycycline can also be used to treat rosacea, cellulitis, and skin infections.
Benzoyl peroxide is the main one we’d stay away from as it reduces the effectiveness of topical tretinoin. And if you’re taking photosensitising medicines (like thiazides, tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones, sulfonamides) because of the possibility of additional phototoxicity.
