What is Compounded Semaglutide?

Compounding refers to the process of to tailor medications for varying needs.

For example, Semaglutide at its higher doses cannot always be tolerated by Asians and Filipinos, so compounding allows for the ability to tailor a medication at a dose and format more suitable for patients.

OVA is partnering with compounding pharmacies to offer Compounded Semaglutide, this is the same active ingredient as Ozempic® and Wegovy®.

OVA only prescribes medications that contains Semaglutide base (the same active ingredient as Ozempic® and Wegovy®) and not Semaglutide salts (not the same active ingredient as Ozempic® and Wegovy®).

How do GLP-1’s work?

Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) agonist and whilst originally approved for treatment of type-2 diabetes has since been approved for weight loss.

Semaglutide works by mimicking GLP-1, a hormone that plays a role in appetite control and digestion. It helps you lose weight by regulating appetite and fullness, reducing cravings for salty and sweet foods and slows the movement of food from the stomach, all making you feel fuller for longer.

Semaglutide is a game changer for millions of FIlipinos looking to finally be able to lose weight for good.
